History

The Northeast Family Center was founded in 1990 and obtained 501(c)(3) non-profit status in May 1997. Originally located in Whitehall Mansion, the agency relocated to the historic Havelock Elementary School in 2006. Our Center strengthens and supports individuals and families through a variety of quality programs that reach out to encourage healthy, productive adults to raise healthy, safe children, who will in turn grow up and do the same. Our programs foster youth development and youth empowerment while bolstering connectedness with parents and schools to keep kids from engaging in unhealthy risk behaviors. We aim to provide children with a stable, supportive family environment, and increase parents’ confidence and competence in their parenting abilities.
