Community Learning Centers

A CLC is an array of services provided within area schools to better serve working and struggling families. At Brownell and Norwood Park, the Northeast Family Center provides before and after-school care and summer learning programs for students where they can spend their time productively, enjoying hands-on art and science projects, help with homework, hot meals, educational field trips and more.

Families benefit from affordable child care so parents can be reliable employees, and children benefit with a proven learning model that has been shown to close the achievement gap in math and reading. Our CLC students are better prepared to succeed during the school day.

Early Learning Center

The NFC Early Childhood Learning Center provides learning opportunities in just about everything your child does throughout the day. Young children learn life’s most valuable lessons through play. Your child’s classroom is composed of several centers which his/her teacher changes regularly. Each day your child will participate in circle time where the class and instructor come together for such things as story time, color/number/shape/letter review, music and movement, calendar and weather discussion and more!
